Moran Returns to Huset’s Speedway Victory Lane to Open Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Portion of Silver Dollar Nationals Presented by MyRacePass

Inside Line Promotions – BRANDON, S.D. (July 17, 2025) – Devin Moran picked up exactly where he left off at Huset’s Speedway on Thursday during Night 2 of the 15th annual Silver Dollar Nationals presented by MyRacePass.
Moran led all but the first four laps of the 40-lap Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series A Main to capture the first preliminary night of the event that concludes on Saturday with a $75,000-to-win feature. It was Moran’s first time back at the high-banked track since conquering the Silver Dollar Nationals presented by MyRacePass one year ago.
“Man, this is nothing like I really grew up on,” he said. “For some reason when the track gets like that I feel I can drive it good. The guys gave me an amazing car.”
Polesitter Ricky Thornton Jr. paced the field for the first four circuits before fourth-starting Moran executed a slide job in turns one and two to power into the top spot. He was efficient in traffic throughout the remainder of the race en route to winning by 0.917 seconds. It was Moran’s sixth victory of the season with the Series, which is the second most.
Thornton Jr. held off 11th-starting Bobby Pierce for the runner-up result. Pierce recorded his fifth straight podium at Huset’s Speedway dating back to the event finale in 2023. Garrett Alberson ran fourth and Hudson O’Neal advanced from 10th to fifth place.
Thornton Jr. and Alberson were quickest in their qualifying groups to kick off the night before Thornton Jr., Jonathan Davenport, Brian Shirley and Moran won the heat races. Ethan Dotson claimed the B Main.
The Malvern Bank Super Late Model Racing Series kicked off its doubleheader portion of the event on Thursday with four qualifying sessions and four heat races. Dallon Murty, Jesse Sobbing, Corey Zeitner and Tad Pospisil were quickest in their qualifying groups. The heat races were won by Josh Leonard, Dylan Sillman, Lance Matthees and Bill Leighton.
The Silver Dollar Nationals presented by MyRacePass showcases both series on Friday with another Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series preliminary night as well as the $6,053-to-win Malvern Bank Super Late Model Racing Series program. The gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 p.m.
