Olivier, Gulbrandson Tied For Title
When the green flag waves at Sunday’s $1,000 to win event at Huset’s Speedway, there will be a race within the race for the Hobby Stock class. Dustin Gulbrandon and defending champion Zach Oliver enter this weekend’s competition tied in the championship standings.
Gulbrandson was first to claim a win this season, doing so at the opening event on May 18. The TDR Chassis #6 returned to victory lane at the following race. Entering August, Gulbrandson has accumulated five feature wins at Huset’s. That impressive stat is complemented by finishing in the top five at all but one of the 10 features so far in 2014.
Olivier wasn’t far behind when it comes to taking home trophies. Olivier followed Gulbrandson’s back-to-back wins at the first two events with a pair of wins at the third and fourth features of 2014. The RPM Motorsports #71 is yet to finish outside the top five in a feature.
Logan Fitzpatrick currently sits third in the points. Fitzpatrick recently claimed his first Huset’s Speedway victory. Former champion Chad Kuhnert and Jason Bradley complete the top five in the standings entering the “Night of 1,000 Stars” event.
